Burnt baby dies in hopsital

The seven-month-old baby that suffered severe burns at the hands of a negligent mother has succumbed to his injuries and passed away yesterday.

Baby Lithemba Zulu sustained severe injuries to the head, face, hands and body.

The Department of Social Welfare was contacted and a case of neglect had been opened.

The mother, Siyathokoza Nokuthula Zulu  was arrested when the child passed away but the case soon changed to  an inquest.

It has been sent to court, where it will be decided if a case of murder should be opened.

The mother had been released while awaiting a court decision.
