Former cop arrested for impersonating a police officer

Khan may be linked to several alleged robberies and incidents in which he pretended to still be a policeman

A former Ladysmith policeman was arrested for impersonating a police officer on Friday. Fahim Khan handed himself over to police on Friday afternoon after he realised that Ladysmith detectives were hunting for him in connection with a case of theft by false pretenses.

“Fahim Khan is no longer a police officer and is not entitled to wear a police uniform. It is a criminal offence to impersonate a police officer in or out of police uniform,” stressed a policeman close to the investigation.

It is believed that Khan may be linked to several alleged robberies and incidents in which he pretended to still be a policeman.

He is expected to appear in court today (Monday).
