MEET Anika Benade, a beautiful blue eyed girl who leads a life that is far from ordinary, she is a little fighter.
This three year-old suffers from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), a dreadful blood cancer, which starts from the white blood cells in bone marrow and can spread to other organs such as the liver, spleen and nervous system.
According to experts, as this is an acute leukaemia, it spreads rather quickly and as a result little Anika has to be taken to Durban every week to see a doctor for chemotherapy.
Anika’s mother Nanette Koekemoer Benade said that times are getting harder as the medical bills are piling up and petrol money for the weekly trips to Durban and back are also quiet costly.
Anika’s family are appealing to community members who might be able to lend a helping hand to donate any amount of money towards helping their little girl.
