Brutally assaulted and robbed

A man was brutally assaulted and robbed of his two cell phones and cash valued at R2 500 while he was waiting for his friend at a local canteen in Glencoe. It is alleged that a man, who is a Zimbabwean national, approached the victim at the canteen and offered to buy him a beer while he waited for his friend to return from Spar. He refused. The Zimbabwean then told his friend that the victim and his friend had stolen his cellphone.
The friends than grabbed the victim and the Zimbabwean man took a Nokia cell phone out of the victim’s pocket. The victim then left the canteen and as he was walking home past the corner of Kemp and Bigger Streets, a group of men followed him and attacked him stealing yet another cellphone he had in his possession. They than carried him back to the canteen and left him on the veranda. The case is under investigation.
