No fear for snakes at Hamilton Prep

Hamilton Prep was infiltrated by a number of “slippery, slithery” intruders on Friday morning, including an over-three-metre Boa Constrictor.

However, no one was screaming or running for the hills. This is because the scary snakes were under the watchful eye of snake expert Fanie Cilliers, who brought them along as part of an insightful presentation to educate the pupils.

Three shows were held at the school, with all grades having an opportunity to speak to Fanie and ask him questions about these mysterious creatures. All the children showed great interest, with each and every child willing to touch and even hold a snake.

Adding to the pupils’ excitement, the teachers even agreed to hold the large Boa!
