It was team Paper House who proved to be the ultimate side after they beat their nearest rivals and put themselves in a comfortable position to win the league title.
Paper House notched up 62 points, followed by NFH Super Stars with 48 points who just managed a one point lead over Team Streetwire on 47 points, and the Fishing People on 35 points.
Outstanding angler of the day was Monty Slabbert who captured both the orange and purple cap once again.
He accumulated 19 points, followed by Ossie Oosthuizen on 16, Matthew Shunmugam, Ashvir Ramnarayan and Tony Singh all on 14 points each.
The title contenders are as follows; Heaviest scaled fish: Tony Singh for his 3,490 kg catch. Faizel Seedat for his Heaviest non-scaled fish of 3,690kg. Heaviest scaly: Shakeel Sheik with 650 grams. Highest points scorer: Monty Slabbert is the Highest Point Scorer on 28 points, and leads the League Champion with his 60 points, followed by Oosie Oosthuizen on 46 points and Vicky Bhooli on 42 points.
Champion of Champion: Shane Mangaroo.
Harry Singh is in the lead for the title of Knock-Out Champion on 16 points, followed by Naesh Rajkumar and Ossie Oosthuizen on 12 points each.
Junior Angler of Year is a close contest between Avi Buduram, seven points, and Preash Haripersad on four points.
Senior Angler of the Year is led by Dan Govender on 39 points, followed by Whity Maharaj on 27 points, while Vicky Bhooli leads the pack with the most fish caught, with his 33 fish total. Monty Slabbert is not far behind, with 32 fish and Ossie Oosthuizen with 30 fish.
Rishen Nankoo and Minesh Gopi were crowned as Knock-Out Doubles Champion.
The title for the “Angler of the Year” sees Monty Slabbert comfortably in poll position with 66 points, followed by Vicky Bhooli on 53 points and Ossie Oosthuizen on 52 points.
Paper House leads the Vees Micro Enterprises lead with 30 points, followed by Team Streetwire on 24; NFH Super Stars on 14 points, followed by the Fishing People on 12 points.
The next competition of the APL will be the Transnat Knock-Out finals and play-offs at Sandford on March 15. The finals will be a direct contest between hot favourites, Paper House and the Fishing People, while Team Streetwire and NFH Super Stars will fish against each other.
