A petrol price increase of anywhere between R1.50 and R2 is expected in April

Next week Friday, the Department of Energy (who regulate the price of fuel) is expected to announce a massive petrol price hike. Early predictions reportedly range anywhere between a R1.50 and R2 increase.

With an increase in fuel levies already expected to push the price up by close to 80 cents, the weaker rand is expected to do the rest of the damage…

We will update this story when we have more clarity on the price hike.

But one thing is certain, motorists are in for a tough few months, with a visit to “fill up” likely to hit their wallets hard.
