Vigilante murderer gets 12 years
A case of murder was opened at eMondlo Police Station and investigations led to the arrest of six suspects. Charges were withdrawn against five of the suspects due to a lack of sufficient evidence. Siyaya was released on bail of R15 000-00.
IN February 2010, a Mr Siyaya and his five sons went to the Moloyi homestead in Block C, eMondlo.
They forcefully removed Mbuyiseni Moloyi, a 38 year old male, from his home and took him to a farm, where he was tied up and accused of stealing Siyaya’s cattle. Upon his denial of the allegations, Moloyi was brutally beaten to death and his body dumped at Mkumbane, near Mbuziland.
Community members discovered Moloyi’s lifeless body early the following morning and alerted the police.

On March 17, 2015, the accused appeared in Vryheid Regional Court where he was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.
Police hope that this will drive home the message that no one is above the law.
