Klipfontein under attack

KLIPFONTEIN Dam, the topic of many recent conversations, has come under attack from poachers, it appears.

Last Sunday, members of the Social Boat Angling Forum discovered approximately 60m of fishing net in the dam, allegedly set by poachers to illegally ensnare fish in the popular freshwater fishing spot. The net was removed and subsequently destroyed by said members.

The Social Boat Angling Forum has eight boats at present. It is not an angling club, but merely a group of boat owners who share a common interest in boating and angling as well as a passion for the sport and the lifestyle it promotes. This group of good-natured and easy going anglers take pleasure in the company of like-minded boat owners and fishermen, without the politics and regulations generally associated with club sports. There are no membership fees or formalities involved.

Boat owners who would like to join the Social Boat Angling Forum can contact Philip on 083 220 9101; Kokos on 083 661 6255; Robbie on 083 800 3132; Louis on 082 895 9377 or George on 082 821 0731.
