One killed, seven injured on R34
According to a report by ER24, paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found both vehicles in the middle of the road 100 metres apart. Parts of the vehicles were spread across the scene.
ONE man was killed and seven others injured last Friday night when a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided head-on on the R34 in Utrecht, KwaZulu Natal.
On assessment of the accident scene, paramedics found that the driver of the bakkie had already succumbed to his severe injuries and was slumped over the steering wheel.
Six patients from the bakkie and one from the light motor vehicle were found on scene, their injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Madadeni Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
