Update: Son pays last respects to dad

61-year-old Mr Danny Maharaj lost his life after an argument between him and his son turned deadly on Wednesday night last week.

Mr Maharaj’s funeral was held yesterday (Tuesday). He was cremated.

Mr Maharaj’s son, Navesh, attended the funeral after being released on bail. Navesh has been charged with his father’s murder.

“After his release on bail, Navesh Maharaj attended the funeral of his father and paid his last respects,” said his attorney, Dinesh Lutchman.

His next court appearance will be on May 5.
