While this is technically the power utility’s third straight day of load-shedding, it is the first day that Ladysmith has been directly hit.

Starting at 6am this morning, Group 3 was cut without warning by municipal staff acting on instructions from Eskom. Shortly before 9am, Group 2 went down due to an unrelated transformer problem.  While Group 2 was suffering random power cuts, Group 1 went down as scheduled and will be off until 12pm.

Group 2 will go down in the next half an hour, from 12pm until 3pm.
