Load-shedding on standby ends

Large companies reduce their electricity footprint in Ladysmith

Big business came to the party, with large companies reducing their electricity footprint in Ladysmith yesterday afternoon. This  allowed the municipality to temporarily halt load-shedding.

Group 3, which was supposed to go down from 3pm to 6pm yesterday, was given a reprieve.  And so was Group 1.

However, there was no guarantee that Eskom would not make further demands on Ladysmith today.

And the power utility did just that.

Group 2 is currently down due to load-shedding, with Group 3 expected to go down from 9am to 12pm.
