Load shedding has very much become part of our daily lives and sadly it’s not  going anywhere.

One thing to understand about load shedding, though, is that it is not a fixed thing.

Some days Eskom implement it, some days they don’t.

Some days are only stage 1, other days are stage 2, which is slightly more extreme.

Some days they don’t even stick to the schedule.

There is no sure-fire way of knowing when load shedding will go ahead and when it won’t.

The Northern Natal Courier follows the times given by the Eskom Load Shedding website, so if we get it wrong, that means Eskom is wrong.

So the next time your lights go off when it’s not supposed to or when they stay on when they’re scheduled to go off, blame not the newspaper, blame Eskom.
