No opening date in sight for hospital

More delays in opening of mini hospital.

There is still no confirmation as to when the Dannhauser Community Healthcare Centre (CHC) will be opened.

Recent protests regarding staff employment have halted the official opening of the mini-hospital and Departmental officials have given no indication when the centre will be opened.

Residents are disgruntled that ‘outsiders’ are given preference over locals when it comes to employment at the hospital.

KZN Health MEC, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo reiterated that members of the local community would be considered for certain posts, but that the department would not compromise on experience for other jobs.

Residents, however, have called on the hiring process to be redone, transparently.

They have promised that the mini hospital will not open until their grievances are dealt with.
