Nquthu Municipality extends its offices

Employees share minimal space making it difficult to complete some of the work.

The extension of the Nquthu Municipal offices, to maximise service delivery, has seen this municipality adding over 30 offices at the municipal premises.
According to Mayor Emily Molefe, the working space was not enough as employees had to share minimal space at their offices ‘which made it difficult to get some tasks done on time’.
She added that, “our back-to-basics programme will now be implemented”. Communications officer, Thokozani Nyandeni, emphasised that the offices currently in use at the municipality are not big enough to accommodate staff members.
He said that all four of their departments will get new offices.
These departments are Finance, Corporate Services, Technical Services and the Municipal Manager’s office.
Over R17 million is allocated to complete the building.
