The intensive search for an Estcourt man, Faizel Drew who is a suspect in a Ladysmith murder came to an end yesterday, Thursday April 23.

Faizel Drew was the third suspect in the murder case of a Ladysmith gym owner Uraj ‘Joe’ Ahir had been arrested yesterday in Fordsburg, Johannesburg.

Faizel, in his 30’s, has been dodging the police since the brutal attack.On April 7 last year the body of Uraj “Joe” Ahir, aged 44, was discovered lying in bed at his home in Oswald Rapson Road in Ladysmith.

A post mortem investigation determined that he had sustained injuries consistent with an assault.A case of murder was opened in Ladysmith and an investigation into his death was launched.

On May 26, 2014 police officers from the Ladysmith Detective Service and Ladysmith K9 Unit arrested two suspects, aged 23 and 36 years, in the Hillside area of Ladysmith. Drew is set to be officially charged with the murder later today.
