Armed robbers strike in Dundee

Both cases are being investigated.

Armed robbers have once again made their menacing rounds in Dundee this past week.
This was after two victims, in two separate incidents, were hit by firearm-wielding bandits on April 29. The first incident transpired in Sibongile during the early hours of the morning. A woman was approached at her business by three unknown men wielding firearms. They pushed opened the door to her business and demanded she hand over money.
They made off with cigarettes, money and airtime to the value of R1 100.
The second incident took place two hours later, on the Dundee/Nquthu road. The gang of robbers followed a white Volkswagen van transporting cigarettes. The trio soon stopped the vehicle, got into the passenger side and demanded the driver proceed driving.
Upon reaching a white Quantum, they stopped the vehicle and promptly got off and offloaded 12 boxes off cigarettes worth R250 000, while one of the three robbers drove off in the Volkswagen.
They also stole the driver’s cellphone. They soon deserted the vehicle near the Buffalo River and fled.
Both cases are being investigated.
