Update: Police need help solving businessman’s murder
Police are appealing to anyone who might be able to assist in solving the case to contact Besters police
Besters police are searching for murder suspects who shot and killed prominent businessman 68-year old Aboobaker Omarjee.
Visible Policing officers responded to the shooting in the Driefontein area on Tuesday, April 21, at about 4.30pm. A businessman from the area who was returning to Ladysmith had been shot in his vehicle. He was critically injured and taken to hospital for medical attention, where he later died.
The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.
Besters detectives are investigating a case of murder and police are appealing to anyone who might be able assist in solving the case to contact Detective Constable PT Mvelase on 036-421-1733 or Crime Stop on 08600-10111.
Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni (KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner) expressed her disappointment at the killing of the businessman. “We will work tirelessly to apprehend the murderers and make sure they face the full might of the law,” she said.
