Kilian Academy – Students give their best on game day

ELEVEN Kilian Academy students competed in this year’s Hanami-Gi Challenge on Sunday, April 26.

Kilian Academy was able to rank up six medals, with wrestling legend, Morné Lindeque, taking gold in the adult men’s blue belt ultra weight division.

Chris Venter secured silver in the men’s blue belt medium heavy weight division and local minister, AJ de Villiers, took silver in the adult men’s white belt heavy weight division. Heinrich Matthee, Albertus Venter, Marlize Alberts and Hamzah Abdulla all took bronze in their respective divisions.

Team Captain, Eduardo Fernandes mentioned that he is proud of every one of the students and believes that they represented the Academy and Vryheid beyond measure.

Kilian Academy wants to thank Vryheid for their support on the day and all the volunteers who made the tournament a success.
