DA hosts community soccer tournament in Nongoma
Following the address by Mncwango, more than 400 supporters gathered to watch the 16 local soccer teams in action as they took part in a community soccer tournament arranged by the DA.
ON SATURDAY, May 2, DA Provincial Leader, Cllr Zwakele Mncwango and Zululand East Constituency Leader, Hlanganani Gumbi MPL welcomed a number of prominent regional ANC leaders in Nongoma to the Democratic Alliance.
This was the first official event by Mncwango as the new DA Provincial Leader in his home area of Nongoma and marks the first fight in his campaign to increase rural votes for the DA in the upcoming local government elections.
After welcoming the leaders, Mncwango issued membership cards to 160 new members, from various opposition parties, who also joined the Democratic Alliance.
Among these new members was Marco Mkhize from the ANC Regional Leadership, as well as Themba Dlamini, treasurer of Ward 4; Tholly Zulu, Chair of Ward 16; Sabatha Sithole, Deputy Chair of Ward 9; S’ya Mkhwanazi, Prominent member of ward 9; Foreman Mkhwanazi, Former chair of ward 18 and Zandile Buthelezi, Prominent member of ward 8.

Medals were handed out to the second and third placed teams, while the winners, Brazil Football Club, took away a sheep as their prize.
