The award ceremony was held on March 27 at Sibiya Conference Centre and was an initiative from the Department of Community Safety and Liasion.

Glencoe SAPS was top of the lot and scooped an award for the Best Victim Friendly Facility out of 184 stations in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
The award was hotly contested by Durban North Police Station and Presbury Police Station in Pietermaritzburg but Glencoe topped the lot and received position one and an award.
The award ceremony was held on March 27 at Sibiya Conference Centre and was an initiative from the Department of Community Safety and Liasion. The Victim Friendly Facility was erected at the Glencoe Police Station in 2013. The brightly coloured interior, decorated with soft toys and illuminous posters, proves to be a soothing environment for victims and has contributed immensely to the conducting of investigations into the cases.
Station Commissioner Lieutenant Colonel Masuku commended all members who participated in making this facility possible. Colonel Masuku also stated, “I would like to also specifically commend Mrs Terry from Supply Chain SAPS, for taking such care of the facility in terms of maintenance and cleanliness and the members on the ground who make sure that the victims, especially women and children, are well treated when reporting cases.”
