Never fear when a brand new crime reporting board is near.
The new crime reporting board, which is a first for Glencoe, has made its home at Glencoe Spar. The erection of the board was an initiative for crime prevention in sector 2 (Glencoe CBD and surrounding areas).
The board consists of notices and informative posters depicting drug abuse, substance abuse among other issues.
The posters will be replaced or upgraded monthly in a bid to keep the community updated on all new safety precautions.
The board also comprises of a mail box where the public can forward any information deemed fit for the attention of the Glencoe SAPS as well as suggestions and complaints.
The box will be checked weekly by Warrant Officer Ramgoolam and all information given will be followed up on promptly.
Station Commissioner, Lieutenant Colonel Masuku. ‘is elated over the new initiative and is hopeful that the board will haul positive results in curbing crime.’
