Fresh wave of job scams surface

Residents urged not to fall for too good to be true offers.

The Department of Correctional Services have once again slammed scammers and have warned the community to be vigilant following new job scams hitting the streets.

The most recent scam doing the rounds in Endumeni is that of an internship.

While an internship has been advertised in the City Press and the official Department of Correctional Services website on May 10, the applications have since closed on May 22, and no more internships are available.

One scammer who goes by the name of Bongani Mchunu has led people to believe there are internships available.

He further promises them that he will do anything, and everything, to get them the job at a fee of R1 500.

Correctional Services, Communications Officer, Nonjabulo Gasa, ‘warned the community against the scam and urged them to not fall prey to it’.
