Pieter G, a man on a social media mission

Spreading the social media message, one click at a time.

Pieter Geyser is a man with many talents, who can’t be pinned down to just one thing.

A qualified chef, writer, digital manager, social media marketer, bit-time actor, published poet and qualified chef, Pieter is truly jack-of-all-trades. Growing up in Durban, Pieter already displayed his diversity.

A star member of the rugby team, he also excelled at chess. His love for rugby continues and had it not been for a serious injury, he would still be playing it today. His attention has turned to another love of his, social media, and he’s eager to share it with as many people as he can.

“Social media is a part of our lives. We got to get out of that small town mentality that we don’t need it.”

Having worked in Johannesburg and Durban, Pieter is still adapting to the difference between the use of social media there and here.

“It’s a huge difference between here and there. That’s why I want to jumpstart social media usage here.” His biggest challenge, however, has been his age. At only 24, many companies doubt that he has the experience to manage their social media brand.

However, Pieter looks at it differently. “I grew up in the digital age with social media. So I have more than enough experience.”

Eager to spread social media in Endumeni, through his company, Xivono Marketing, Pieter sees the advantage and disadvantage of what he does in the area. “The advantage is that I’m the only one in the area doing it. The disadvantage is trying to sell the idea to people who don’t see the benefits in it.”

When he’s not enjoying chill time through his job, Pieter unwinds by playing Xbox or riding horses, once again highlighting his diversity. “I don’t fit into any boxes. If you want to do something, just do it.

Don’t worry about what other people say or think.” A truly unique individual, Pieter is ready to share his diversity with the area and introduce them to the world of social media.
