Forrestdale community tired of false promises

Angry community have had enough.

The Forrestdale community chose Youth Day to vent their frustration over twenty years of empty promises by erecting a shack on municipal ground.

A group of about 50 men and children gathered to dig holes and put up the tin shack as a symbolic protest.

Some DA and EFF members were also at the scene but there was no sign of police presence.

An EFF member made a speech but community members were quick to point out that this was not a political event but a community organised protest.

They said they had been promised 200 houses by council but are upset that this was just another empty lie.
