Having a cuppa for CANSA

One of the most social ways to raise awareness and combat cancer, is through Cuppa For CANSA.
Cuppa for CANSA is an opportunity for friends, family and colleagues to get together and share a cup of tea or coffee and help those affected by cancer. This initiative takes place between June and October, and CANSA encourages everyone to host a Cuppa For CANSA event.
By hosting or attending a Cuppa, you’ll be helping CANSA to provide much needed care and support to cancer patients who stay at CANSA Care Homes while receiving treatment.
A Cuppa For CANSA event can be large, small or intimate.
“The Cuppa For CANSA concept can be adapted and allows for some wonderful new and imaginative ideas to be shared. You can opt for a casual Cuppa, or add a quirky and fun theme to your event to add some flavour to it, by hosting a Victorian Tea Party, Tea with a Botanical Theme, a High Tea; a Women’s Day Tea, a Men’s potjie cook-off, a Mother-Daughter Tea and so on. This is your opportunity to be creative and fun,” said CANSA CEO, Elize Joubert.
Cuppa For CANSA is a fun way to support a CANSA Care Home that provides ‘home-away-from-home’ accommodation to patients undergoing cancer treatment at oncology clinics far from their homes.
This year’s first Cuppa for CANSA was hosted by Newcastle Country Lodge and Jeep, that took on the challenge to raise funds for patient care, loan of medical equipment, CANSA Lodges, education and research.
“We care for our customers and the community and cancer is so widespead, We are supporting the initative as not everyone can afford treatment,” said Magdel Stucky from Stucky Jeep.
