VRYHEID Hospital came to their defence after a local reported to the Vryheid Herald that his relative had been starved during their stay there.
According to this local, he had had to drop off food to a pregnant relative who was at the hospital and had not been given anything to eat the whole day.
According to the hospital’s media liaison Nqobile Mbatha, Vryheid Hospital does in fact serve meals to patients.
“Patients get three meals everyday with tea times in between as this is important especially for those taking any type of treatment,” said Miss Mbatha.
The hospital also has qualified dieticians for those patients whose diets need special attention.
Vryheid Hospital said that they were not certain this local’s report was correct as they strive to take good care of their patients
