Sentraal top log ahead of Vryheid game on Saturday

Sentraal’s next game will be on Saturday, July 4, against Vryheid at Dundee High School at 3:30 pm.

Sentraal rugby club, sponsored by T-Shirts for Afrika, experienced mixed fortunes over the last week and a half on the field.

On Wednesday, June 17, Sentraal played Highlanders in Newcastle and proved good value in their 38-3 victory. Charles Dube, Dolf Redelinghuis, Henk Booysen, Innocent Mbamayi, Eddie Coetzer and Wiehan Weber all dotted down , with Pierre Booysen converting four of the tries.

On Saturday, June 27, the team travelled to Piet Retief. It was there where Sentraal suffered their first defeat of the season when they were narrowly beaten 33 – 27. The score could have been in the favour of Sentraal if it was not for the referee of the day missing a knock-on, forward passes and off side play.  Sentraal scored four tries and lost by less than 7 points, earning them two valuable bonus points to keep them top of the log.
