Girls teach the boys a thing or two about pool

There was an excellent turnout of eight teams participating in this round. During the evening there was lots of chatter around the braai fires which kept everybody warm.

The Girls Rule team surprised the Battlefields Sports team on the pool table in the Squires Sports Bar Business League played at the Dundee Bowling Club on Thursday. Girls Rule beat the guys ‘outright’.
This was the highlight of the evening with lots of cheering and fun. There was an excellent turnout of eight teams participating in this round. During the evening there was lots of chatter around the braai fires which kept everybody warm.
At Moolman Insurance Brokers Day
The DBC Open Gentlemen and Ladies Singles competition, sponsored by At Moolman Insurance Brokers, has been postponed to accommodate members who are away on July vacation and to allow them to support the Newcastle Fed Auto Two Bowl Trips sponsored day (R10 000 prize money), played on Saturday July 11. Members are encouraged to support their day. See notice board to enter. Members will be notified when the singles will be played.
All members and interested people wanting to play bowls are reminded to join the fun on every third Sunday in the Family Fun Bowls on (next one on July 19) starting at 11am. Children are encouraged to come and play Bare Foot Bowls. This is extremely popular in Australia. Bowls are provided. Bring your basket and braai.
KZNCB Fours
The KZNCB Fours championships were played in Richards Bay over the weekend and the Men Fours was won by Douglas Steele’s teams, Newcastle BC, while the runner-up was Dion Leaity’s Richards Bay BC team. The ladies section was won by Barbara Baleri’s Klipbank BC team and the runners-up Samantha Shaw Newcastle BC team.
All players are reminded that every Wednesday and Saturday is Tabs In starting at 1:30pm i.e. open draw done. All members are encouraged to play.
Dundee Bowling Club is a great venue for functions and is fully licensed.
