Two injured in Saturday afternoon smash

The extent of their injuries, is a good example of the importance of wearing a seatbelt while travelling in a vehicle.

Two people were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a truck on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened at approximately 4:00pm.

Both occupants, the passenger and the driver, of the smashed vehicle were allegedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and were subsequently flung against the dashboard and steering wheel respectively, resulting in severe head and chest injuries.

The extent of their injuries, is a good example of the importance of wearing a seatbelt while travelling in a vehicle.

The injured parties were treated at the scene and transported to Vryheid Provincial Hospital.
