Church develops block by block
Church helps alleviate poverty through block making initiative.
The St Johns Church Apostolic Faith Mission in Sibongile, Dundee has embarked on a programme to alleviate poverty by starting a block-making project.
The project was initiated by three members of the church. As from now, the church will also hire two youths from the community.
According to the treasurer of the church, Judge Thabe, the intention is to develop the church by selling blocks to the community and also build the church mission also using blocks.
Mr Thabe hopes that one day they will buy a ‘big block-making machine to supply housing projects.
He added that the winter soup kitchen will soon start.
