Help for Mondlo woman

“As local businesses, I believe we have a role to play in our community of helping those in need wherever we possibly can,”

COMMUNITY members of Vryheid have yet again showed their true understanding of the basic concept of Ubuntu.
Responding to calls for help from an article which was published in the Vryheid Herald on June 19 (Nothing but the whistling, winter wind), which was about a woman from Mondlo who lives in a mudhouse that is very close to collapsing, Mr Buthelezi of Shenge Soil Design Laboratory approached the Vryheid Herald asking how he could get in contact with this woman and lend a helping hand.
“As local businesses, I believe we have a role to play in our community of helping those in need wherever we possibly can,” Mr Buthelezi said.
On Wednesday, July 1, Mr Buthelezi, accompanied by his employees Mbuso Buthelezi and Sboniso Mthembu visited Sisana Mhlungu’s home at the Emadresini area of Mondlo and true to what they had read, they found that the house was on the brink of collapsing and this poor woman could just as well be living outside.
Mr Buthelezi and his team proposed building a two-roomed house for Sisana.
A spot was pointed out where the two-roomed brick house would be erected and the Shenge Soil Design Laboratory team left Sisana Mhlungu’s home with the promise of returning next week with building materials to start working on her new house.
“Thank you very much, may the Lord bless you,” was all that the emotional woman could say to express her gratitude.
With the help of these kind community members, Sisana will be well sheltered from the winter cold.
