Indaka Municipal Manager gunned down

Municipal Manager shot multiple times.

Northern KwaZulu-Natal has been rocked by the murder of another municipal official.

The Municipal Manager of the Indaka Municipality, in the Ekuvukeni area, was ambushed, shot and killed on his way home from work.

Sinatra Khumalo (53) had been travelling on the Helpmekaar Road when his car was shot at by three gunmen in the Intshele area.

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and the body.

Ezakheni SAPS are investigating a case of murder. The motive for the murder is not yet known. No arrests have been made.

Mr Khumalo was appointed as Municipal Manager since May 2012 following the dismissal of the then Acting Municipal Manager.

This is the second municipal official to be murdered in the span of just over a month. Nquthu Council Speaker,

Vusimuzi Bonginkosi Ntombela was also shot and killed in a classroom at Luvisi Primary School.

A primary school learner was also killed in the horror shooting.
