Update: Vehicles collide on Colenso / Pieters road
One of the drivers was trapped in the wreckage and the jaws-of-life had to be used

3 vehicles collided on the Colenso / Pieters road this morning (Wednesday).
The cause of the crash is unknown at this stage, but it is alleged that the vehicles were trying to overtake during misty conditions in the area.
2 vehicles were still on the roadway after the crash, which caused traffic delays.
The driver of the vehicle that was off the road was trapped in the car and had to be freed using the jaws-of-life.
RTI officers controlled passing traffic, as traffic flow was obstructed due to the 2 vehicles on the roadway.
Colenso SAPS, the Ladysmith Fire Department, EMRS and Sharaj Ambulance Services responded to the scene.
Multiple occupants of the vehicles were injured. They were treated at the scene and then transported to hospital.
On Saturday night, a truck crashed down an embankment on the same road, killing the driver.
