King size guavas

The women who worked at his house were alarmed and refused to take the fruit believing that it could be a sign of bad luck.

ALTHOUGH some might be alarmed and there are many myths about strange fruit, Faizal Shaik decided to regard his as a blessing.

Faizal’s guava tree yielded three guavas weighing over 500 grams last week (the largest being a whopping 602 grams).

Faizal said that the women who worked at his house were alarmed and refused to take the fruit believing that it could be a sign of bad luck.

“I think that the fruit symbolise the blessings of Ramzan as my family and I have been fasting. It could be a sign of great things to come,” said an enthusiastic Faizal.

Yielding guavas that weigh slightly more than the average tinned fruit, Faizal could be well on his way to the Guiness Book of Records.
