Young man stoned to death
A university student was involved in the grim murder in Stratford Farm.

A grim murder shocked the Stratford Farm community when Xolani Miya (25) was stoned to death by two young men.
The two men have since been arrested and charged with the murder that occurred on July 11.
Accused number one, Thembelani Sibisi (19) and accused number two, Kwanele Sithole (21), approached Miya and his uncle, Vusimuzi Mdunge, who were waiting for their girlfriend’s next to a Jojo tank in the Kwa Sithole area at 11pm .
They asked for and received a cigarette from Mdunge. Thereafter Sibisi instigated a dispute with Miya about matches.
Sibisi struck Miya on the head with a wooden stick and he fell. His uncle was attacked but managed to flee.
Both the murder accused went back to Miya, stoned him to death and fled the scene. A cellphone was stolen and has not been recovered.
Five detectives, W/O Nkabini, W/O Ntombela, Lt Ngwenya, Sgt Bouwer, Cons. Buthelezi and the team (POC) apprehended Sibisi and Sithole the next day with the help of the community.
The two murder accused made their first appearance at the Dundee Magistrate’s Court on July 14.
On July 22, they appeared for the formal bail application. Bail was granted with conditions.
Thembelani Sibisi is presently a student at the Tshwane University of Technology.
The case has been remanded to August 26 for further investigation.
