New look for South Park Grounds?
Municipality plans to restore ground to former glory.

There is still hope for sport at South Park Grounds.
The grounds, which have long since been an eyesore to Dannhauser residents, could soon be given a new look.
South Park was once the sporting hub of Dannhauser. Residents packed into the ground every weekend to watch the talent cricketers perform in the local league. A multi-million rand project was then approved to elevate the status of the grounds.
However, the project was never completed and the money was never attributed for. The fencing was soon destroyed and residents used the grounds as a short cut, to get from their homes to town.
And so the grounds become an eyesore, invoking only memories of a glorious past. But it could soon be restored to its former glory, thanks to the Dannhauser Municipality.
Community Services Manager, Seva Naidoo, confirmed that they were working on bring pride back to the grounds.
Mr Naidoo said that they were fixing the fences and gate and procuring security for the ground so that it would not be vandalised anymore.
Mr Naidoo explained that it theycould not fix up the grounds as yet, without having security in place, as it is feared that people would still use it as a shortcut, destroying any work done to the grounds.
