Woman killed in N3 accident

Dog missing after accident on N3 kills owner

Earlier this morning (Monday), paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services responded to a crash on the N3 highway near the Bergville Toll Plaza. Sadly, a woman of about 55 years old has passed away.

It is believed that her car overturned before coming to rest on its wheels on the centre median between the north and southbound carriageways. Indications are that this was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

According to passing motorists who stopped to help, the woman had been travelling with two dogs.

One of the dogs ran away after the crash.

The other dog did not appear to have sustained any injuries and was cared for by passersby.

Police were also at the scene and are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
