Vehicle crashes into protesters’ rocks on Driefontein road

To add to the chaos, protesters broke the barriers on both sides of the road and bolted them together

A Toyota Condor travelling towards Driefontein rolled this morning (Tuesday) after crashing into rocks that had been put in the road by protesters.

The occupants of the Condor left the vehicle on its side and left the scene.

The vehicle was towed away by a breakdown service.

To add to the chaos on the Driefontein road, protesters broke the barriers on both sides of the road and bolted them together so no traffic could get through.

Public Safety, the Fire Department, RTI, Sharaj Ambulance Services and a towing service helped clear part of the road by removing the barriers.

There was also a secondary accident on the Driefontein road, where a bakkie rear-ended another bakkie.
