Browning Street three: Accused abandons bail

The Browning Street three accused of the gruesome murder of Rekha Govender, appeared before the Dundee Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.

Accused number three, Mohammed Alijan, applied for bail the previous week on July 3.

Today, he abandoned his bail application before the court.

The reasons are unclear at this moment as to why he abandoned bail application.

Their next appearance is set for September 16 for further investigation.

The state still awaits DNA results and a 205 report – which allows the state to have access to the cellphone records of the accused.

Cassim and Mohammed Alijan will remain in custody. Michelle Gaskin is still out on bail.
