Community unite to support Dlamini family

Selfless support from community helps family through difficult time.

Members of the community in Dannhauser have been praised for their support, when they rallied together to assist the Dlamini family.

The Dlamini family lost all their possessions when a fire tore through their Lotus Drive home. However, the community came to their rescue and soon started doing what they could to get the family back on their feet.

Neighbour, Farzana Dookie, was instrumental in ensuring that the family was able to survive.

Mrs Dookie contacted the Al Imdaad Foundation to assist with blankets to help and got members of the community to donate clothes, food and other items they could spare.

Mrs Dookie also  generously donated from her own home and encouraged other members of the community to come forward and do the same. “Service to mankind is service to all,” she said.

The Dannhauser Municipality also came on board to assist the family. Community Services Manager, Seva Naidoo, visited the scene and donated provided the family with a tent.

Zinhle Dlamini thanked the community for their support and helping her family through this difficult time. She said that though their lives were difficult at the moment, they were extremely thankful that no-one was burnt in the fire.

Mrs Dookie has urged anyone wanting to assist the family to contact her on 079 096 9443.
