Harry du Plooy – RIP – tribute to a musical local legend

The last chord has been struck...

This weekend saw the passing of the area’s great characters, Harry du Plooy.  Hardly a market day, a senior citizens day or any other community went by without Harry and Fasie singing and playing their guitars.  Harry passed away after what is believed to have been a heart attack.

Former Glencoe resident and now radio deejay in Cape Town, Martin Nel, paid tribute:

“It is with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Harry du Plooy. He was an absolute gentlemen and entertained hundreds of us over the years in Glencoe. To his family and friends my most sincere condolences. Here with the song that Harry played for us during our last visit to Glencoe.”
