Motorist dies in crash along Colenso / Pieters road
The driver was flung out of the vehicle and died on impact
A life was lost this evening (Wednesday) in a motor vehicle accident along the Colenso / Pieters road.
It is alleged that the driver of a VW Golf lost control and rolled his vehicle off the road.
The vehicle was travelling towards Ladysmith when it crashed into the roadside barrier and rolled through a fence into the Tugela Game Reserve.
The driver was flung out of the vehicle and died on impact. His body was found lying almost 15 metres away from the vehicle, which was on its roof.
Fire and Emergency Services, Sharaj, RTI and Colenso SAPS responded.
Traffic flow passed with caution while emergency personnel worked the scene.
Game rangers from the game reserve were also at the scene to repair the fence and make sure no wildlife strayed onto the road.
