SAPS honoured for dedicated service
To serve and protect isn't just a line for some police officers, it's words to live by.

To serve and protect isn’t just a line for some police officers, it’s words to live by.
Dannhauser SAPS recently honoured these officers with medals for their years of service to the force at a glitzy function held at the Dannhauser Primary School Hall.
With Captain Shooz Magudulela leading the programme, officers were kept entertained while waiting to receive their medals.
Dannhauser Police Station Commander, Major Ntanda, did the official welcome and thanked those who attended the function.
Colonel Nyide, Dundee’s Station Commander, who spoke on behalf of Brigadier Khanyile, thanked Major Ntanda for organising the medal handover function.
“Having a function like this gives meaning to the medals. It’s not just given to them in an office. They are awarded with it,” he said.
Colonel Nyide also emphasised how sad it was when family members of slain officers had to receive medals on their behalf.
Captain Shooz also spoke of how officers should be proud of their achievements in this day and age as people were always after their blood.
Officers were then given medals, with some receiving medals for serving during the World Cup, some received Commemoration medals and the main medals went to those who notched up 10, 20 or 30 years of service.
The recipients were: 10 Years: R/Sgt V Naraidu, Const NP Mathebula, Sgt GNK Buthelezi and W/Off EN Thabethe.
20 Years: Sgt Zwane, W/Off AR Bika, W/Off TW Majola, W/Off ND Qwabe, W/Off TSS Thwala, W/Off MG Mbatha, W/Off EJ Mnyandu, Lt BV Ndlovu and Lt A Perumal.
30 Years: W/Off B Dubree, W/Off D Perumal, Lt EB Buthelezi, Lt PB Mazibuko and Capt J Narothum.
With many years of service under their belts, the Dannhauser SAPS are ready and waiting to serve and protect for many more years to come.
