Motor fanatics raise funds for cancer

Motorists in and around Newcastle came together to raise funds for CANSA on Saturday, October 17 at Newcastle Show Grounds.

The event was hosted by Northern Natal Motor Sport and offered lots of excitement.

Just some of the categories open to entrants were Show and Shine where car lovers showed off cars as old as from the 1970s, and sound, where competitors had the crowds rocking out.

Teams from Estcourt, Pietermaritzburg, Ladysmith, Dundee, and as well as local motoring fanatics competed in the event to prove their worth.

Here are the results of some of the winners:

Show n Shine (1970 and earlier):

– First: Streetwire 75points.

– Second: Ray Singh 70 points.

1980:

-First : Streetwire 84 points

-Second: Ravi Govender 70 points

Special awards:

-Best engine bay: Street wire

-Lowest ride : Sleek Auto Detailing- kombi

Sound Compo (Rookie 1):

– First: Gerard Andrews- Corsa- 141.4

– Second: Rameez Hansel- Golf- 139.3
