Rotadent dentist clinic at Livangeli School – an amazing project of care and dedicatioin

Eight dentists - four from the USA and four from Finland - and a backup team of international and local volunteers - worked tirelessly for four days at Livangeli School, Sibongile, carrying out a staggering 2726 procedures on the children, ranging from extractions, to fillings and complete restoration work.

Three hundred and fifty disadvantaged children have been given a new lease of life thanks to the Rotary Club’s Rotadent project. Eight dentists – four from the USA and four from Finland – and a backup team of international and local volunteers – worked tirelessly for four days at Livangeli School, Sibongile, carrying out a staggering 2726 procedures on the children, ranging from extractions, to fillings and complete restoration work.
Done in conjunction with the Dundee Rotary Club and Medicine Arm in Arm, Rotadent is the local club’s most important project of the year. Dorothy Steinert, of California, who arranged the international side of the project and has been involved for 16 years in dentistry undertakings in Africa, Armenia and Russia, said ‘this is all about changing young lives’.
