In the pursuit of worshipping the Divine Mother, the Sat-Chit-Ananda Temple performed saraswathi last Tuesday evening.
The saraswathi is a prayer during the Navratri celebrations, a nine-day period where devotees worship the Divine Mother.
“We perform saraswathi for the children and people dealing in educational work. We pray the Divine Mother to bless their memory and assist them in learning, as well as help in their spiritual growth,” explained Avikar Singh, a representative of the temple.
During the auspicious occasion, devotees participated in an abishek where they bathed murthees representing the Divine Mother.
The prayer was continued on the following day, where the congregation performed a Kanya Pooja.
“This is where we take nine girls and one boy, treating them as a part of the worship ceremonies,” Avikar explained
