Tucked away in a hidden den lies a secluded sanctuary for movie fanatics.
Star Watch, Newcastle’s first outdoor cinema, recently held its first premiere screening, at Grey Goose Lodge last Friday.
Hosted by Albert Brits, it is unique to Newcastle and Northern Natal’s only outdoor cinema.
Stemming from a recent trip to Cape Town, Mr Brits resolved the same concept of sky cinemas be brought to Newcastle.
“I want to share in the exhilarating thrill and delight of watching movies outdoors with the rest of Newcastle!” exclaimed Mr Brits
The winning name, Star Watch, was suggested by Jeffrey Lambert, the winner in a competition posted on social media.
Star Watch guarantees an experience that is unforgettable, affordable and entertaining, as it caters for different age groups.
“We wish to have fortnightly screenings, or at least shows once a month, depending on public interest.” said Mr Brits.
Eager moviegoers huddled close in anticipation of watching the all-time favourite movie, Ghostbusters, about to be screened.
Dressed to the theme of Halloween, people of various ages wore ghoulish garbs and menacing masks.
“If you tired of the conventional method of watching movies, come experience the stars at Star Watch,” invited Mr Brits.
