Parkrun to touch down in Vryheid
People of every ability are encouraged to take part, from those taking their first steps in running to those who are more seasoned in the sport. There is no winner, the run is just for fun.

PARKRUN is an initiative which grew from humble beginnings in October 2004 in Bushy park, Teddington, UK, into a global community of runners.
Starting on Saturday, November 7, Parkrun hit Vryheid soil in the form of a 5km run at the Enviro Centre on Vryheid Hill at the corner of High and North Streets.
Runners who would like to take part in future parkruns are advised that they start at 7:00am sharp. There are no prizes and no fees involved in the event, which may become a regular occurrence in future and all are welcome to join. People of every ability are encouraged to take part, from those taking their first steps in running to those who are more seasoned in the sport. There is no winner, the run is just for fun.
Start at parking area at Vryheid Car club/Cloud End Guest House. Travel up Oos Street, turn right in Klip Street then left up to Game Park and turn right before Game Park entrance.
There are a few rules: bring your own refreshments; children under 12 must be under parental supervision; participation is at your own risk; the run starts at 7:00am sharp and continues for one hour for 5km.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in the Parkrun, the first of its kind in Vryheid, can contact Smuts Van Der Nest on 082 442 4986.
